1. A Thread of Red Between Us is a mapping project about connection between people and places. My body works as an agent interacting, connecting and threading these connections. Different approaches based on observation, understanding and respect of different political, social and cultural contexts; through performance art actions as communication tool to the people from one place to another. The project has so far connected people from Mexico, Italy, France, Sweden and Czech Republic.
Conflicts and many other global issues have deepening prejudice and insecurity among human being in different countries. Trust and connection are in thin line and it is not easy to break these boundaries. The Thread of Red Between Us is an attempt to build the connection, using the red thread in making the red flower as a gift, a gesture of friendship. “…by giving, receiving, and returning gifts, moral bond between the persons by exchanging gifts.” (Marcel Mauss)
2. Between Smog and Water .
We are familiar with environmentally harmful activities and man-made disasters from the past to today. Nothing new and these irresponsible activities still continuing. Back to the history when toxic herbicidal warfare program in Vietnam to the leakage of radioactivity from nuclear power, oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, mining pollution and other power plant project that has poison our earth. Who can be sure that our water is safe to drink, our earth has no treat for planting food and our air is clean to breath? Who is responsible for the aftermath of disasters to our food chain and our generation born healthy? No one. Where is our security? What are our rights? And, what is our choice?
